carlsilver
Does offline CC processing gateway not provide a facility to enter the CVV2 number of the card being used?
openmind
I would hope not since you are not allowed to store or transmit the CVV2 code...
carlsilver
then how are you supposed to process payment when the customer is not present? Why do i get asked for my CVV2 when buying things online??
openmind
Because it is online but it is not (or should not be) being stored. For CNP transactions on a terminal you cannot enter the CVV2 code as you won't have it in which case you need to contact your merchant bank. To summarise, you are not allowed to store or transmit the CVV2 code encrypted or otherwise.
carlsilver
kk thanks. Our retail store has a counter PDQ machine, but if we cant use it in connection with WHMCS there is no point me enabling offline cc as a gateway option. Thanks Phil
openmind
Well if you have a PDQ machine you have a merchant account in which case use a gateway like Protx to take payments through WHMCS which works great. We use it ourselves... You also get a virtual terminal through Protx...
