Paypal Invoices Remain Unpaid

I am attempting to get paypal setup. Each time I try to create a new hosting account and WHMCS directs me to pay the invoice at paypal I pay it. Paypal sends the email saying:

You have successfully signed up for a subscription to Cytech Creations - Invoice #371981 using PayPal.

 

Your first subscription payment, for $0.01 USD, has already been sent to PayPal Website Payments Pro/Virtual Terminal.

 

However within WHMCS it still says that this invoice is UNPAID I don't know why it is doing this. Also any idea why it says "has already been set to PayPal Website Payments Pro/Virtual Terminal?" Shouldn't that say sent to Cytech Creations (my company)?

 

I am quite confused.

 

Also when I log into my business paypal account there is no record of the payment being received...however when I log into my personal paypal account it shows the payment as being sent.

 

I have never worked with a script which interacts with paypal that doesn't require a URL for IPN and just thought that was odd since I don't see how WHMCS knows how-to talk to PayPal.
