jozeph
Hi guys, I'm old user from AWBS system. On AWBS there is a feature for load balancing. How this works? The auto-create accounts feature, in hosting signup, automatic create hosting accounts. When your have a servers assigned to the same group, you can enable a load balancing feature. So, this feature automatic identify the number of accounts on these servers and the server that have a minor account numbers will be used to setup this new account signup. WHMCS have a similar feature?
herpherp
yes you can set the maximum number of accounts for each server in the server settings... and when setting up services you can select which server each product will be assigned to by default.... I believe that if the max accounts is reached for a server it will select the server that has the least accounts utilized on it... so if you have 3 servers and server 1 is full, server 2 has 5 out of 10 allowed accounts, and server 3 has 2 out of 10 accounts used, whmcs would select server 3 for the new account... As long as the server types are the same (ie cPanel).... This is my understanding of the process anyhow there are a few topics in the forums that you can reference...
jozeph
I've tried to find topics about this issue... no one found. But this process is automatic? In AWBS, you have a queue where all process can be completely automatic and you will be notified when some of these processes fails. This load balancing feature is automatic or require manual operation?
nielsenj
Maximum accounts is setup per server within your server setup. What packages goto what server is setup at the package level. Once it reaches the server max it will either switch to another server (if you have one setup with it) or it will wait for you to manually select the server.
jozeph
In this case, if you setup two servers to 100 accounts. There are currently 0 accounts on both servers. Whmcs will automatic setup all 100 accounts in first server and after that will start setup accounts on second server? Or this will be 'balanced'? first account on server 1, second account on server 2, 3rd account no server 1, 4rd account on server 2, etc. (load balancing between servers).
chickendippers
It will fill up the default server first.
jozeph
will be very nice to see this feature on WHMCS... What users think about it? Would you like to see a load balance feature in WHMCS like described above?
herpherp
will be very nice to see this feature on WHMCS... What users think about it? Would you like to see a load balance feature in WHMCS like described above? You can set up a dummy server apply 0 accounts allowed and set that as the default server. Then when setting up your hosting plans use the default server option. I believe (but I could be totally wrong) that this would choose the server with the least active accounts. (I only currently have 1 server so couldn't test) Just some suggestions to try no idea if they will work. I did test setting up a dummy server and it did roll over to my other server.... Like I said though I can not confirm if it would just choose the next server in the list or the least loaded...
