mediademon
Hi All I need some clarification with regards to automated billing... Am I right in thinking that automated billing applies to *ALL* invoices created on the system and not just hosting? Are domain renewal invoices billed automatically? What about "custom" invoices for consultancy? I seem to have a conceptual gap in my understanding of whmcs...! As usual any help greatly appreciated!
handsonwebhosting
The automation on the invoices is not based on an existing invoice. The automation part is based on the package that you create, the frequency of the billing and the price that you have specified. We have done consultant work and generated a manual invoice for customers as a once off invoice. Domains would be billed automatically, again based on the frequency and price that you have specified on that product.
mediademon
Hi Not really confused about invoice "generation"... It's how WHMCS handles the "payment"... Would WHMCS attempt payment for a manual invoice, for instance, when the due date was reached and the clients card was on file?
brianoz
Yes, it attempts if the payment method is set to "card" for the invoice, and there is a card on file. It doesn't attempt if there's no card on file, or payment method is set to something else.
