cURL SSL support -- for knowledgebase

I'm currently trying out the WHMCS package after fleeing in terror from Ubersmith.

 

So far, your product is better in every way than Ubersmith. Congrats. If I can get my test orders working shortly, I'm sold.

 

I just had a tidbit you might want to add to your knowledgebase -- as far as server requirements are concerned.

 

After installation and configuration, my test orders were failing. In fact, I couldn't successfully enter credit card details in the form!

 

Upon checking my Gateway Log, I found this:

 

Action => Auth_Capture

Client => DELETED

Response Reason Text => libcurl was built with SSL disabled, https: not supported!

 

For novice cPanel, WHM users to fix this, use the following steps:

 

login via shell to your server

run /scripts/easyapache

choose option 7

choose PHP Modules

enable curl SSL support

exit and wait for apache to recompile itself. This takes awhile.

thanks for the info. Should help others. But i do want to add that its not a server requirement for whmcs, its just one for your particular gateway. I do though feel that its foolish to run a billing software of any type without ssl.
