Getting a PayPal Sandbox account?

Anyone been able to get a PayPal Sandbox account? I tried signing up last night at https://developer.paypal.com and the system said it's sending a confirmation email to my email address. That's been 12 hours ago with no confirmation email. :|

I decided to try PayPal customer support via email and let them know I tried signing up but never got a confirmation email. This is their response; step #1 is too funny if you ask me:

Hello my name is Dortha, I am happy to assist you with your question

regarding a PayPal Sandbox Account.

Please follow the steps below to resend a Confirmation email within the

Sandbox:

1. Log in to your Developer Central Account at

https://developer.paypal.com/

2. Go to the 'Sandbox' tab and log in to the Sandbox Account for

which you need to confirm the email address

3. Once you are logged in to this Sandbox Account, please follow

these steps:

1. Click the 'Profile' subtab

2. Click the 'Email' link in the 'Account Information' column

3. Select an email address using the radio button and click

the ''Confirm' button

4. Go back to the Developer Central page and access the

'Email' tab. This is the 'inbox' for all of your Sandbox Accounts

+ Find the most recent email with the subject line,

'Activate your PayPal Account'

+ Click on this link

5. When the email comes up, you will see a plain text link

that is not clickable. The verbiage above this link will say:

+ 'To activate your account and confirm ownership of

this email address, you'll need to click on the following link and enter

your password'

+ Copy and paste this link into a new browser window to

access it

6. You will be taken to a screen that prompts you to enter

your Sandbox Account password

+ Enter the password and click the 'Confirm' button

+ Your email address is now confirmed

If you have any further questions, please feel free to contact us again.

Sincerely,

Dortha

Have you checked to see if the email maybe got filtered as spam? Either by your email client, server or spam filtering service if applicable.

Yep, last night after I waited 20 minutes (or so) I decided I better check my spam folder. I used both my ISP and Gmail accounts to try to sign up but no luck.

Is there any other way to test the entire WHMCS customer checkout experience, from beginning to end?

The non-sandbox way:

Buy something from yourself and credit it back when your done. I'll cost you your $0.35 and what ever percentage paypal charges but at least you'll know it works.

That's basically what my bank had me do with my merchant account after it was set up.

This is too funny. After replying to the message PayPal sent, here's what I got back

Hello my name is Katherine, I will be happy to assist you with your

question regarding confirming sandbox email address.

The confirmation email will be sent to the sandbox email address listed

in the Developer site under "Test Email".

To view your Sandbox emails:

1. Log in to Developer Central at https://developer.paypal.com/.

2. Click "Test Email."

For more information, view Sandbox User Guide.

If you have any further questions, please feel free to contact us again.

Sincerely,

Katherine

I am not able to create a Sandbox account. I signed up and it said it

would

send a confirmation email to my email address. That's been over ## hours

now. How do I get a Sandbox account if I cannot confirm my email?

I tried getting the system to resend the email. This is what it said:

"Your account has not yet been confirmed. We have resent the

instructions for confirming your account to you" However, the email never comes!

If you refund the payment it won't cost you anything because PayPal will refund the fees too.
