How to add my SSL to the Billing System?

Xpert-Servers

Recommended Posts

Well,

As you can see on my website (http://www.xpert-servers.net) i have an active SSL with Godaddy.com and i want to add it to my site and/or BIlling system.

https://seal.godaddy.com/verifySeal?sealID=202351193803e36d75212711adc0e42d017ba80614035440

Thats the verification.

I've added it to Cpanel, how do i add it to my page?

Thanks

Wdf,

I showed you the link to godaddy, maybe its because they tried to make an SSL under my domain via Cpanel,

In my first post though, i showed link to Godaddy verification.

All that link means is that you have purchased a cert from godaddy. Other than that it means nothing.

You have set up ssl incorrectly. Your website is using a self-signed cert not the one you got from godaddy.

Firefox shows:

xpert-servers.net uses an invalid security certificate.

The certificate is not trusted because it is self signed.

The certificate is only valid for dinomite-hosting.net

You need to delete the cert and start over. Sometimes your host will have to delete the old one from the system.

Here is the proper way to get a cert to work from godaddy. Thats who I use. The below assumes you have already gone to godaddy and purchased the cert and are ready to activate it and your host allows you to install certs.

1. In cpanel of the domain you want ssl for click on SSL/TLS Manager.

2. Click on Generate, view, upload, or delete your private keys. If there is nothing listed under host then a new private key must be generated if your domain is listed (yourdomain.com) then skip to next step. Select the drop box a the bottom of the page and select the domain to generate the keys for. I usually pick domain.com over http://www.domain.com and you will always access ssl using this, i.e. https://domain.com. https://www.domain.com will throw an error.

Click "Generate"

3. Go back to SSL/TLS Manager and click on:

Generate, view, or delete SSL certificate signing requests.

Select the host from the dropdown box and fill in the text fields.

Click "Generate"

4. The next page will show you the certificate signing request. Select all of it and then copy.

5. Go to goddady-SSL Certificates-My Certificates. You should see a yellow box that shows you have a credit for a ssl cert. Click on use credit. After that click on manage beside the new certificate and paste in the certificate signing request that you generated earlier.

6. Once submited godaddy will send a email to the admin contact for the domain you are getting the cert for. Make sure you can get into whatever email address that is set at the registrar. Once you get this email, approve the ssl cert for the domain.

7. After clicking the link in the email you should be directed to godaddy to get the new certificate. If it does not then go back to My Certificates on godaddy and click manage next to your domain name. Click reissue and then select all of the certificate contents on the right and Copy.

8. In cpanel SSL/TLS Manager click on Setup a SSL certificate to work with your site.

9. Select you domain and make sure it is the correct one-either with or without www.

10. Past the certificate from godaddy in the CRT box, your KEY should already be there as it was generated earlier, paste the ca bundle from godaddy in the CABUNDLE box (see below for link to bundle).

11. Click install certificate. that should do it.

CA Bundle for godaddy can be found at https://certs.godaddy.com/repository/gd_bundle.crt

save this to desktop and open with notepad
