nitro
Hi all, This may be because we're still running older version of WHMCS (upgrading to 3.7.1 in the next few days) but I am finding it hard to work out how to set up a product for SSL certificates. I want to set up a product that allows me to offer options for different certificate durations, and that will create a renewal reminder / invoice once the certificate expires. To complicate matters one supplier gives a free month with one year renewal, two free months with 2 years, etc. As such I guess terms would be best set in months, not years. Wondering if anyone has a product recipe (I couldn't find anything in the wiki) on offer? Are product options like this even possible in WHMCS? Thanks!
SilverNodashi
There you go: http://wiki.whmcs.com/Enom_SSL_Certificates
nitro
Thanks, but I saw that page already. It is not relevant to my question. That page deals with setup of the Enom Module, I want to set up SSL Certificate products without this module. We do not use Enom and will have to process orders manually for now.
SilverNodashi
well, in that case you need to create the SSL as a procuct, of type Other & choose None for the server modules. WRT your configuration options, I would suggest you create different products for the different years, and then you can set the "next invoice date" on the prorate billing option. But that's about as much as the current options will allow. Bear in mind, that "sales pitch' is everything. Describe the product in such a way that it tells the client that the item is free for the first month, and adjust your pricing accordingly. SSL's are sold i n1 year increments, so just say something like "pay for 1 year and get one month free"
