Jordan
I apologize in advance if this has already been asked, though I tried searching through the forum but nothing has already been posted. I've noticed that when I try to download files from the download section of my whmcs, it will save it to my computer as a .HTM file. Obviously changing the extension does nothing. I also receive this on whmcs.com's download section. I've tried the few file types and I receive the same results. Have also tried to manually overwrite them in the directory, but again... same. Could this be just a server related issue or does this happen to anyone else?
MACscr
its probably because your doing it wrong. All you have to do is LEFT click on the link, the click save as or open. Your most likely right clicking, then doing save as. That wont work. The downloads in the support site here work fine for me.
Jordan
Next time I'll have to specify even more so when posting here. Unfortunately, I receive this whether I simply click on the link, or right-click. So, while I appreciate the response, there wasn't a need to be condescending. ETA: And again, I still receive this with WHMCS: I know that it's not browser related, because this happened when I was using Firefox 1.5.0.7 and now I'm on 2.0. I also received this when trying to use IE 6.
Adam
Hey, Um I don't ya, but don't ya chose "Save as"? LOL Don't worry you are not downloading a .html file, since you can chose any file to upload to the WHMCS (.html, .php, .doc, .rar, .tar, etc...) WHMCS is coded so its forces the client to download rather then use the server default to download it (if you upload a .htm file the server would run it, using this method you are downloading it). I hope that clears up everything... From, Adam
Jordan
My first post indicates that after it's saved to my computer it's still an .HTM file. It will save it was "filename.zip.htm" and produces random ASCII characters in a file.
Adam
Hey, When I download it it comes out as a zip, or what ever the file format should be and we are downloading the same file (http://support.whmcs.com/dl.php?type=d&id=4) From, Adam
Jordan
Nope. It saves to my disk as ceimport.zip.htm ETA: Figured out the issue *sniffs* stupid browsers :\
MACscr
funny how everyone was trying to help you out, but YOU were the one being a dick. Looks like it was a problem on your end as well.

I wasn't being a dick (and not saying that because I'm a female), I just didn't appreciate your condescending post that came out with saying I was wrong, before even suggesting a fix to the issue at hand.
Adam
Figured out the issue *sniffs* stupid browsers :\ Hey, What browser are you using? I'm guessing something on a Mac or Linux (by the looks of the screen shots). From, Adam
MACscr
I know that it's not browser related, because this happened when I was using Firefox 1.5.0.7 and now I'm on 2.0. I also received this when trying to use IE 6. I am not sure of the OS, but those are the was using. I had tested on FF 1.5 and 2.0 as well with no issues. Definitely was not a default setting of the browsers.
