Zorro67
(Apparently there's a 5 min limit on poll creation so please use this thread, sorry). Hi there's a number of threads around about connecting with accounting packages. However, Matt & the boys are likely to need some hard data before committing any resources to connecting to any accounting package. So to make that easier, please nominate what accounting software you use If you tick other, could you please post the brand?
CSNM-Carl
We used to use Quickbooks Pro, but switched to Kashflow a few months ago. Kashflow will soon be linked up to WHMCS using the Kashflow API to automatically add all new customers/sales/transactions

The latest version of QuickBooks is getting horrid reviews, and I've never been a fan of the greedy Intuit Corp. I'll be taking a hard look at kashflow soon. Adam
Hey, I use Microsoft Access which interacts with the WHMCS database and its own internal Database. So everytime a client makes a payment or something gets updated in the WHMCS database, I use foreign keys and everything gets updated in a jiffy. With Microsoft Access you are able to create your own reports and mass print out invoices (one invoice per page) and countless other options. Its really up to you what do with Microsoft Access because you design and create what you need. From, Adam
Zorro67
Thanks Adam. However the point of this thread is about accounting, which has very specific requirements (and penalties for non-compliance) rather than reporting or financial modelling. So the question is, do you use microsoft Access to do your business acccounting and tax reporting & compliance in, or do you use something else. Sorry, that sound a bit harsh. I just realised that some people simply put their info into a db/excelll file & let their accountant sort it out.
Adam
Hey, Nope I use Microsoft Access for everything, with the interactions with the WHMCS database (and other databases I use) I can pull up when a client paid an invoice, print out invoices, change invoices, create invoices, etc. I simply touched on the reporting tools available (which is unlimited since you create your own). You can generate income reports and than do a cost analyst and see how much it costs to run your company. In addition quarterly and yearly reports and my all time favorite, tax/income report. Now Microsoft Access is not an out of the box solution and does requires programming and database background to setup and configure, but once that is covered, the possibilities are endless! Thanks, Adam
