To the best of my knowledge this will not be possible using WHMCS. I believe that WHM will not even provision sub-domains with cPanel so that they could then use Fantastico to install WordPress.

subdomain accounts can be created via WHM, exactly the same method as you'd use to create a normal account.

any other users who think this can work?

It is possible, i believe another software does this (xpanel i believe) so its certainly doable.
