decor
have i read this right, - we can set a default - for everybody- commission in the affiliate area then in the affiliates own page we can customise there commission. So we can say pay 20% general commission but have others that get 30% coomission automatically - once set up. Thanks Ian
handsonwebhosting
That's correct. You can also define certain comission rates on certain packages if you wanted. Like our Dedicated Servers get 60% comission (one time fee) but our Hosting gets 20% comission (recurring) etc.
osckar
Hello: Regarding this matter.. I'm kinda confused about how to pay comissions to the client: When a client log in to Client Area, he click on Affiliates and he clicks on the Request Withdrawal button, a support ticket is sent automatically. On Manage Affiliates, I see a client with balance: $100.00 withdrawn: $0:00 How to put this money into the client's account? I'm lost at this point..... Or Am I missing something? Thank you!!
jacobkball
I got stuck on this too when I started - it turns out it's all manual from there on, as far as I'm aware. Eg, yes you get a Support Ticket, but the rest is up to you. If you are paying the client their commission, simply pay them normally eg cheque, bank deposit, then manually update their Affiliate Balance to $0.00, and manually update their Withdrawn Balance to whatever you paid them (plus whatever was already there, if you've paid them before). If you want to use their Affiliate Balance against the client's own invoices, eg as a credit, you have to manually add the amount as a credit to the client, then manually update the Balance and Withdrawn fields as above. Quite tedious, as far as I'm concerned. I think there should be an option such as 'Pay Affiliate' that gives you the choice of Cash Payment or Credit to Client, and then it should update all of those fields as appropriate. If anyone has better instructions for this process, by all means, let us know, as I'm still quite new to it all too Cheers Jacob
juiced
I think it's better to do things manually. We have quite a few affiliates now, and whilst it would be good to save a bit of time processing their payments, i find it much better to maintain a personal touch with them. as the more you court & encorage them, the more they'll and make you = my theory anyway. itboss
I'm a bit confused here! The client signed up for the affiliate program, but where do I specify different percentage payouts for different packages...as mentioned by 'handonhosting' in this thread? Thanks
WisTex
Well, there is "manually" and there is "doing things that should be automated." For example, if a customer wanted his affiliate commissions applied as a credit to his account to pay his future invoices, it would be nice to have one step instead of more than one. It is still manual, but less steps. Giving a Customer Credit: Current Situation: Customer Requests the Commissions be Applied as a Credit to their Account You manually apply a credit to their account. Get out a calculator to make sure you do the math right. You manually change the commission balance field. You manually change the commissions withdrawn field. This could be done in two steps and still be considered "manual." Manual Example with Less Steps: Customer requests the commission be applied as a credit to their account. You approve the transaction (and the system automatically does the rest.) Automated Example (if you want to allow them to do it without approval): Customer requests the commission be applied as a credit to their account (and the system automatically does the rest). Paying a Customer via Check, PayPal, etc.: Current Situation: Customer Requests the Commissions be Paid by Check, PayPal or some other method. You manually pay them by check, PayPal or another method. Get out a calculator to make sure you do the math right. You manually change the commission balance field. You manually change the commissions withdrawn field. This could be done in three steps and still be considered "manual." Manual Example with Less Steps: Customer Requests the Commissions be Paid by Check, PayPal or some other method. You manually pay them by check, PayPal or another method. You fill out a form saying how much you paid the affiliate, how and when (and the system automatically does the rest.)
WHMCS CEO Matt Posted September 20, 2008 WHMCS CEO Share Posted September 20, 2008 Paying a Customer via Check, PayPal, etc.:Manual Example with Less Steps Unless I'm missing something, that's what was added in 3.7. Matt
