WebzPro
Just setting up WHMCS. Matt and his team have been terrific. Moving from Modern Bill and we used a set up with WildWest for registering domains, but it takes a two step process. We are looking at Direct I. Does anyone have any feedback on Direct I or ant other suggestions for choosing a registrar to use with WHMCS?
Roger
eNom is pretty pain free and appears to be the "standard" that other registrars are measured against. Their API is free to resellers also.
chickendippers
We go through the DirectI reseller RoverNIC as they offered us a better price than the regular DirectI slabs, and their support is better than either DirectI's or eNom's in my experience. eNom's system is better designed and easier to pick up, but both are pretty much the same.
WebzPro
My biggest question would be control panels. I have resold for WildWest (GoDaddy) for that last few years and even though this is not an API set up at least each customer has their own control panel. Does the customer have their own control panel? Thought I was reading a thread that said they didn't but could control a few things through the client area in WHMCS.
chickendippers
AFAIK the only module which allows that is DirectI. The module called DirectI has the standard behaviour (your customers control everything through WHMCS) whilst ResellerClub gives each of your customers their own control panel. Whichever you use you only need a DirectI account.

Control panel only if you resell directly through ResellerClub and no control panel through WHMCS but customers control certain aspects. Thanks.
WebzPro
Well the more I look around the more I get confused. Maybe I should stop looking. Saw a few more things maybe someone could clarify. Resellerclub module. If you sign up with them and use the registrar module every time you have a client sign up for a domain it creates a new customer eveytime. I am guessing then each client would get their own log in and control panel correct? DirectI through WHMCS all customers go under one customer. I again am guessing that you cannot use that login would make sense that you could. What I am really looking for is is for each client to have their own login. Anyone using Resellerclub your feedbeck would be great.

WHMCS CEO Matt Posted July 14, 2008 WHMCS CEO Share Posted July 14, 2008 We offer all clients a free DirectI account (nudge nudge ) If you combine DirectI into your WHMCS system, from your on site client area, your clients can view and update nameservers, set domain locking, view/edit WHOIS contact info, register & manage custom nameservers and request the EPP code for their domains. That should cover most customers needs! Matt
Gregory3007
We go through the DirectI reseller RoverNIC as they offered us a better price than the regular DirectI slabs, and their support is better than either DirectI's or eNom's in my experience. eNom's system is better designed and easier to pick up, but both are pretty much the same. Is there a module compatible with WHMCS of Rovernic? Thanks ^^
chickendippers
Just use the DirectI or ResellerClub modules.
goddess_dix
i've used the directi stuff under commonacre, and did not care for their control panel or customer service - at least as commonacre's customer service. it was all but impossible to elicit a response from them. can't speak to the customer service aspect under whmcs's reseller setup, though, because my previous experience turned me off of them altogether...currently, most of my domains are going through enom. but everybody has their own preference.
