risrik
Hi, I'm not sure how to handle this. If you have a one-time price item, can it not have configurable options? I've noticed that as soon as you enter a configurable option (say an additional monthly fee for that product) there is no price calculated or shown in the drop down option for the customer (just a '$ CAD'). As soon as you switch the product to recurring, the configurable option works. For example, I offer digital certs for one year. It's a one time payment (not recurring - customer must renew if they want it again). When a customer orders one, they must get a dedicated IP as well (recurring monthly/annually). Is there any way to connect the two items so that when they want a digital IP they must get a dedicated IP? It would save me telling them that they need an IP and having to place another order (because people are lazy and will never add both to their cart). Thanks for your help.
WHMCS CEO Matt Posted July 11, 2008 WHMCS CEO Share Posted July 11, 2008 If you're going to have a recurring monthly fee, the product type must be recurring. You would then set the one time price as a setup fee. Alternatively you can use configurable options on a one time product, but they will of course be one time also (you enter the price in the monthly field for a one time product). risrik
Thanks for responding Matt. I suppose I'll do the one-time price as a setup fee and then the recurring as a configurable option. Curious, you mentioned that you can create a one-time product and that the configurable option will be one time as well. I would actually be fine with that. When I set the product to 'Customers will be billed once for this item' and create a configurable option, no price is shown to the customer on the Configure page. The section for configurable options appears with the options I've created but each one will be in the drop down without a price as in "Option 1 - $ CAD", "Option 2 - $ CAD". CAD are Canadian funds. If you choose one no price is added to the total. The only way that a price for a configurable option will be shown and calculated is if the product is recurring to begin with. One-time products don't seem to be able to use configurable options (even if they are one-time as well). Am I missing something? Does the fact I'm using Canadian funds cause this problem perhaps?
