Template Integration

Hi,

 

I was wondering if I implemented my template the wrong way, because I edited the homepage.tpl by putting the left column in, but then I realized it doesn't change/add the left column all the other pages also.

 

How can I get the left column inserted on al the pages instead of edited each page individually.
