Server license?

I was wanting to know if my partner and us get a WHMCS license, can we use it on our servers that we have? or do we have to purchase a license for each domain that is hosted on the server? we currently are looking to get this as we don't have a working billing system.

I think you might be a little confused. You only need a single WHMCS license to manage hundreds of accounts (I presume this is what you mean by "domains").

You would purchase a license for each domain in which you install WHMCS. In other words, if you have several hosting businesses on the same server, you'd need several licenses.

ok, so what you are both saying is that each master reseller would have to purchase a license from us? what doesn't make sense is that a company called hostnine could offer a WHMCS license and there lowest package is $19.99 and when you register a domain under them it says that its a owned license and can't be used on another domain that is not part of the hostnine network...so that is why im asking about a server license...see how confusing it could be...also, im part owner on 1 hosting company and owner of 2 other companies...

It sounds like HostNine have decided to offer complimentary WHMCS licenses on the condition that you only install it on their servers; seems fair to me.

don't get confused ...We can use WHMCS on shared server as well it is just the billing system. If you have your own server you can install it on their,but you get it licensed for 1 domain i presume where you can install it and do the invoicing.

 

with hostnine they are providing complimentary sys (whmcs) to their reseller to have their own billing system and expand their business,logically both reseller and company grows.

thank you both for any answering my question, but if im understanding you correctly, we can get 2 license for each of our sites, and then go to the resellers part and go through and resell licenses?

 

just want all my facts before thinking that i can do something else.

if i have got your question correct...

 

you can get WHMCS for your billing services and then all the resellers you have can also use WHMCS for their respective domains (either they get it themselves or you can be a reseller of WHMCS and provide them service similar to hostnine what ever convinent at your end)
