Knowledgebase

Recommended Posts

The majority of ours are ones that we dealt with on a regular basis. As questions become more common we make knowledgebase articles on them.

Initially I remember populating ours with about 50 common questions, but our KB is over 500 entries at this point.

The knowledgebase is a great way of gaining search engine ranking also. Much of our traffic these days is actually through our Knowledgebase as we cover so many different topics. Currently about 100-150 KB articles are in our public database, but many of them are in our client login database as so many of our articles are taken by other hosts. We spend a lot of time writing clear articles, then other people take them (verbatim). Such is the web hosting game I guess, but frustrating after spending so much time writing them (years).
