Retired Forum Member WHMCS Joe Posted May 31, 2008 Retired Forum Member Share Posted May 31, 2008 Hi Yes, any time you change the IP, directory or domain name the license has to be reissued. Joe
jnet
why the ip I know the domain how does it make sense that ip also should be reported:?:
dansgalaxy
Because (im guessing) their software pings home (whmcs) each time its used with all your server info and the license code it compares it with its data to check all fine Also because if you gave it up, or sold the domain whom ever you sold it to could have a free license to whmcs if it when just on the domain .. Is that right Joe?
FPForum
jnet, were you able to successfully reissue the license after changing the IP? It is very simple to do once you have changed the IP just goto your whmcs login screen and it should give some directions..Only takes a few minutes

Adam
Yes I did and right now I have no problem at all, It took secondsbut I was just curious:) Why do cars have license plates when drivers have drivers licenses? dansgalaxy
Then again... the new ones with onboard computers etc will mean one day ALL cars will need a IP addrress and that is one of the major reasons they developed IPv6 because IPv4 only has 4,294,967,296 unique addresses where as IPv6 has 340-undecillion (34,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000) because IPv6 uses a 128 bit system and IPv4 only uses 32-bit Me geek?... no...
