itoverlord
in DNS management, with enom as my registrar, there is no way to set the MX priority. ie, @ mx mail.domain.com 10 @ mx mail2.domain.com 20 you don't have the option to add the 10,20, 30, etc. in there. But if you went into enom directly you would.
9thnode
I don't see how this is relevant to WHMCS
itoverlord
it's relevant because it's part of the whmcs billing system. A customer logs in, clicks on my domains, clicks view details, under Management Tools is a DNS management button. This is where the customer is provided with the ability to manage thier DNS. However, there is no way to set the priority for MX.
9thnode
MX records and Priority should be set within CPanel, not WHMCS. If you have your registrar hosting your DNS, then you would have to set it manually as the host, as WHMCS does not access registrar hosted DNS.
9thnode
as noted, in CPanel under E-Mail there is a "MX Entry" Option where all of these options can be set.
itoverlord
This doesn't pertain to web hosting. This is about domain management. If someone buys a domain from me I use Enom. The user can use enom's name servers and put their own information in there and point it anywhere they want. They can use another hosting provider, they can use url redirect and point to another domain, If they have hosting through me ehy can use my name servers and the DNS management is then done through the ensim X CP) and this topic would be moot, but not everyone that buys a domain from me also buys hosting. WHMCS has provided an interface for domain management for enom resellers. Before I made the switch to whmcs I just had a log in interface for my customers to go to http://access.enom.com which is the customer facing CP. I'm going to include the URL to some screen shots of what DNS management looks like in WHMCS and in the actual customer CP at enom. http://www.usmhosting.com/images/whmcs-forum/dnsman1.tiff http://www.usmhosting.com/images/whmcs-forum/dnsman2.tiff http://www.usmhosting.com/images/whmcs-forum/enom1.tiff In WHMCS DNS management, you see not way to set priority, and in the enom CP you can see it. And they are all set to 10, even though they should be 10, 20, 30, etc.
