Free Trial billing setup question

Hi,

I messed around with the demo to try and setup a free trial for a subscription based hosting service. Here's what I want to do:

 

1. Have people signup and provide credit card info.

2. Upon checkout, an instant credit for the first month is applied so their net cost is zero.

3. In a month, the first charge is made, and re-occurs thereafter automatically.

 

I used a "promotion"...but it looks like folks have to put in a code on the checkout form.

 

Any way to automate this so the person doesn't have to type a code in??

I beleive in the confign >> promotion you can set the promotion as

type= one time discount

disount method= percentage

value=100.00

applies to= monthly

This works fine EXCEPT you have to type the code in the promotions field for it to be applied to the order.

 

My question is: Is it possible to set it up to automatically apply?

Now you can either have your customers enter the promotion code "freetrial" or use one of the following links to apply the free trail automatically:

 

http://example.com/whmcs/cart.php?promocode=freetrial or http://example.com/whmcs/order.php?promocode=freetrial

 

Depending on whether you use the cart system or the order form.
