Create View in WHMCS DB?

Hi -

To fish out custom field data for reporting purposes, is there any issue with adding a View based on a select statment to within the WHMCS DB itself?

SELECT tblcustomfields.fieldname, tblcustomfieldsvalues.value,tblorders.userid,tblclients.lastname

FROM tblcustomfields, tblcustomfieldsvalues, tblorders,tblclients

WHERE tblorders.userid = tblclients.id

AND tblcustomfields.id = tblcustomfieldsvalues.fieldid; etc etc.......

Or is is something that is best done in a seperate DB?

Maybe a stupid question, but I don't know the back end of this so well yet and I dont want adding a view to cuasse some weird effect.

Thanks,

MyLama

In the above post, I just want to know if a view used for reporting purposes are best created in sperate DBs (I.e. will using the WHMCS DB drag down the DB, cause other issues, etc....)

I wish the window for editing posts was a bit longer....

Thanks,

MyLama
