WHMCS + Joomla + Valid code + Templates!

entia

Question

Hi and thanks for reading my post - any comments appreciated!

I have quite a few questions so to save a long first post will try keep descriptoins short - unlike the title!

--

Features

1) Which billing system: a) ModernBill b) AWBS c) WHMCS ?? Pros/Cons??

2) Ticketing system: a) Kayako b) WHMCS??

3) I want a "Live Chat". Recommendations??

--

Look and feel

4) I am used to Mambo/Joomla and would like to integrate 1) with this if poss. Any experiences?? - note, I like Mozzie and ColumbusGeek

5) Web standards? I want a compliant site. Will this be possible?

6) Can the "submit" (etc) buttons of the cart be changed? Skinned?

7) Can someone recommend someone/website who can help me with a template and integration of same?

--

Payment Gateway/Fraud

8) This is a totally new area for me. Can someone recommend what I should be looking out for? I have not taken CCard payments before. Recommend Fraud prevention options?

9) I have set-up with Paypal and Google. Do either allow repeat payment (ie for automated monthly payments) - like FuturePay (WorldPay)?

10) Where can I get a SSL and how do I integrate it?

11) How can I add those funky scrambled word/number images before submission of tickets/orders/contact emails etc.?

Ok ... if anyone can shed some light I would really appreciate it. The WHMCS lads have installed the trial version on my server last night and I have been going through all the settings and trying things. If anyone can help with these points I am very keen to get the website up and running.

Slightly off topic, but this is my racing website (http://www.entiaracing.com) that I customized from a Mambo template - to give people an idea of the style I am after. Also see my web hosting company logo at http://www.entiadesign.com

Looking forward to hearing back from you all. Sorry this is long but I am a newbie trying to get up to speed - a case of not knowing what I didn't know!!

Cheers

Samir

Features

1) Which billing system: a) ModernBill b) AWBS c) WHMCS ?? Pros/Cons??

This is really irrelevant, if you post in the WHMCS forum.

2) Ticketing system: a) Kayako b) WHMCS??

Use kayako.

3) I want a "Live Chat". Recommendations??

Integration is really on your side, as whmcs uses templates, you have no boundaries really.

5) Web standards? I want a compliant site. Will this be possible?

Again, up to you.

6) Can the "submit" (etc) buttons of the cart be changed? Skinned?

Yes.

7) Can someone recommend someone/website who can help me with a template and integration of same?

Just look around. Find someone good, send`em a private message.

geotrust, comodo ...

11) How can I add those funky scrambled word/number images before submission of tickets/orders/contact emails etc.?

WHMCS already handles this through captcha.

Thanks for getting back to me. Sorry if this ends up very long ....

1) Which billing system: a) ModernBill b) AWBS c) WHMCS ?? Pros/Cons??

Yes point taken. However, am trying to get an objective view from people if possible. For example, as all the systems offer largely the same features, then why should I pay more for WHMCS v's AWBS? Appreciated that there is a loyalty element on a dedicated forum.

2) Ticketing system: a) Kayako b) WHMCS??

Use kayako.

Will will the WHMCS system be improved to rival Kayako in the near future?

3) I want a "Live Chat". Recommendations??

liveperson.com

Thanks :-)

Well kind of. In the sense that standard AWBS code is not compliant. Perhaps I should ask whether WHMCS code/templates etc are natively compliant. Does anyone really care!? :-) (I do btw!)

7) Can someone recommend someone/website who can help me with a template and integration of same?

Fair enough. I was interested whether there was perhaps somewhere to find a directory of specialists for WHMCS that is all. Any suggestions?

For it`s price and features and support, WHMCS beats all. I tried Modernbill, WHMAP,Clientexec ... dunno if there are more, but WHMCS is the fastest and most stable of them all.

Use kayako.

I don`t even want WHMCS to concentrate on ticketing, since whmcs and kayako already have a loginshare, which is really what I`m ok with. I don`t want the ticket system to take over the main purpose of whmcs, which is really billing and support. kayako->tickets,whmcs->the rest.

Thanks :-)

I never really gave thought to this, since if you are integrating the code, you handle the compliance.
