jensenjl
I have modified 2 templates .tpl files and both times I made the change a strange bundle of text appeared at the top just inside the body tag. I don't have and extra strange tags I added it is mainly just removing and reorganizing the existing stuff already there. Has anyone seen this before? If so, what do I do to fix it? Look at the upper left above the logo to get an idea of what I am typing about. chickendippers
If I remember correctly it's the Byte Order Marker. Disable it in your editor program.
jensenjl
I couldn't find any BOM's in the code using vi. So I deleted the header.tpl, restored it and did the editing in vi instead of sharepoint designer and the goofy extra characters went away.
