MyLama
Hi - Is there any function/procedure for removing an account from WHMCS without terminating it on the server? We have some accounts that are turned into "freebees", as well as others that we setup with WHMCS but (for various reasons) and which we want to maintain, but no longer which to keep in the WHMCS system. We are coming form MB, where we had the ability to remove the account from billing system without touching the acount on the server. The Terminate Account function, while handy in most cases, makes me a bit nervous. We have clients who built fairly elaborate, linked DB systems and the prospect of someone being able to to destroy eveything in one click is a little worrisome. I realize that the simple answer is "well, don't clcik the Terminate Account button" but if we are delegating to staff, etc..... It would be good to know how to circumvent and/or disable this function. Thanks, MyLama
ckh
Not sure if it's the correct procedure, but, instead of hitting the terminate button for the hosting, scroll down a bit and hit the delete link. This deletes the product/service from whmcs without touching the server. If you want to delete the user account then, just click on the Summary tab and click on the 'delete client' link.
chickendippers
We used to do this for "freebie" customers (friends, relatives etc) but we ended up in a "who owns this website" situation. It's probably best to keep them in WHMCS and set the recurring price to 0.
MyLama
Thanks ckh. I think Im going to try out chickendippers suggestion as I get into same situation often. Before migrating from MB I went through all of the sites NOT in MB and had a hard time remembering what was what. Thanks guys.
Nick
You could also create a non-existent server in WHMCS and assign the packages to that - that way any server commands will fail, you can't accidentally hit that terminate button (... and the OK button on the javascript confirmatino dialogue).
