Configurable Options & Addons?

Recommended Posts

Hi,

I am currently in the process of setting up WHMCS since we are about to move away from ModernBill.

Now my question is aboit configurable options and addons, whats the main difference?

Let me tell you a bit more about our setup, like all hosting companies we have extras that can be added to packages such as the ability to host more than one domain on a package or a dedicated IP.

What I need to know is how do you seperate whats an addon from a configurable option...

Right now I have our Multi Hosting Packs as a configurable option and a dedicated IP as a configurable option BUT have our SiteBuilder and SSL certificate as an addon, am I going along the right lines here?

Any input would be appreciated.

I'm having a bit of difficulty deciding whether to re-enter all the "optional addons" as a product addon, or to modify the configurable addon's so that they display on the invoice as a sub-item... (and not being able to use a drop down for each option, but 5 x the same item e.g. monthly, quarterly, yearly etc... Instead of radio buttons or a drop down, when only 1 option can be chosen...

This can only be done, as i can see as a Configurable Addon.... If added as a Product Addon, no modification can be made to the billing period, custom configuration, etc etc....

Is anyone familiar with the available product variables, to allow me to add:

Product Name Hosting - $100 / month

|- Added: cPanel 11.24 - $50 one off fee

|- Added: WHMCS 11.24 - $15 / month

|- Added: 5GB Bandwidth upgrade - $10 / month

Total: $175

Total Reoccuring: $125

Am i making sense or just talking rubbish?

Thanks in advance (:

emma.
