Is Cron just for cPanel?

Hi

 

While testing the trial of WHMCS, one of the post installation tasks was to setup a cron job in cPanel.

What if I don't use cPanel & Linux?

The manual says to setup a cron in cPanel.

The instruction is written like that so that people without a great deal of experience realise setting crons up can be done via cPanel, which is not a requirement. You can set crons up from the command line of a linux box, or you can use the 'scheduled task' facility on a windows server.

Sorry for not explaining how. In addition to the scheduled tasks for Windows as ECWNick suggested, there exists the ability to install crons on Windows:

Call the script. When you are setting up the scheduled task, simply type in the name of the file you want to run
