Salman75
Hi Matt, The new kayako / WHMCS integration is very limited. It does not allow users to login directly to the support site using WHMCS credentials. Kayako folks seem to blame the "WHMCS loginshare module" for this incomplete integration. http://forums.kayako.com/f56/whmcs-loginshare-questions-here-16132/ Is there something you can do to make it better? Thanks

Thanks It seems as though we've been posting in the same thread! I get tired of Kayako's useless support, blaming everyone else. They did the same with Modernbill 5. Then ontop of it you wait for this "integration" for 6 months and it's not even to the level of other integrations even though WHMCS is quickly on it's way to the top (if not already at the top) of automated hosting/billing solutions. Anywho, on a side note.. incase you didn't notice the "integration" search function was never coded in. I just figured out a way to add that functionality to search the knowledgebase (and presumably the other areas as in standard kayako) to WHMCS. Are you interested in the modifications, i can post them if you like.
Alex341
The integration is truly appalling, so much so that I've now moved away from the support suite to live response and let WHMCS handle the tickets. Its not quite advanced but at least it actually fits into the system.
MACscr
I would highly recommend writing your own integration if possible. If your like me, you dont want to have to rely on anything from kayako to work (integration wise) for my support section to continue to work. They are pretty poor at that side of things.

Salman75
I was wondering what the "official" response from Matt is on this issue. Kayako say they can do no further until WHMCS make a better loginshare module.
nielsenj
I was wondering what the "official" response from Matt is on this issue. Kayako say they can do no further until WHMCS make a better loginshare module. Problem is Kayako says that about any product when they are integrating it. It's unfortunate for them to put that on Matt when it's obvious WHMCS was integration ready long before Kayako even started working on the logic of their loginshare. All they need to do is authenticate the user remotely, easy as pie with the API. If they exist, let them in with the associated tickets which are already stored in the Kayako DB. If they don't, create the account and allow them to do what they need to do. I made a loginshare for IPB that functions the exact same way and it works fine. I'm pretty sure Kayako is going the way of MB, going to be sold to the highest bidder and until such time their development will go slower and slower and responses/support will fade away to nothing. In the mean time, their product is still (by far) the best support suite out there and i'm glad that there's atleast something "official" to work with. With some minor templating changes it starts to look ok. As for the search add-on, i've tested it and it works, there's minor changes to the header template in WHMCS, 2 files to upload and one langage file to modify and it'll search your Kayako integrated knowledgebase, downloads and troubleshooter and display it integrated into WHMCS. Just let me wrap it into a little package and i'll post a link. I'm aiming for monday seeing as how it's family time and all
