Lib-Design
Use a SMS gateway and a cron job that checks the relivant dates. You can get some good and value email->sms gateways i used a few and found its best to look around. i will look back and find the ones i used to use.
polarbear
The easiest way might be just to have a PHP script running daily, quering the MySQL database for domain expiration and have the SMS triggered from within that PHP script. From my knowledge, WHMCS does not have built-in support for SMS.
WartecH
any examples you have? I think it is a good idea.. Everyone can use it..
rndinit0
Sounds like a great idea. But i do believe in the long run email to sms is easier to maintain. However if WHMCS ran a sms gateway, and added this feature that would be even better.

chickendippers
If you want to do that, you're best off using something like VarilogiX
brianoz
Clickatell is another reasonably priced SMS gateway - they offer both email and API access.
