WebHot
Can someone tell me how we can correct a problem we’re having with duplicate account names? When a customer registers a domain an account is automatically setup on WHM with a username, which is by default, the first 7 LETTERS of the domain name. When a customer comes along and registers a new domain name that begins with the same 7 letters the account is NOT setup on WHM and creates all sorts of problems—requiring us to manually login to the WHM and create an account with an alternate user name. Many of our clients register theirname.com and theirnameblog.com—which causes us to have this problem frequently. This is causing a major breakdown in our support. Can you tell me HOW to correct this? Isn’t there a way to have WHM or WHMCS create a different account--other than the default setting of the first 7 letters?
DigitalEnigma
Hi, 3.6 has checks in place to prevent this happening so upgrading to 3.6 would solve this for you.
GreenLight
Okay, I'm having this issue with 4.3.1, except the conflicting account is on another reseller's account on the same server. Any ideas?
