Make Product Groups Array Available to every template file

Hello,

I am creating my own custom theme and would like to know if it's possible to have the product groups array variable be available on every page . I've attempted to use a php hook, but I can only make the product groups available on specific pages not all of them. I did look at data feeds as well, but am unsure of how to use that solution. I do understand that I will have to pull the data from the database, but am stumped on making it readily available for every page Could anyone help point me in the right direction?
