maniahost
Hi All, I'm probably being totally numb to not know this, but can anyone tell me whether it's possible for admins to terminate a whm account in whmcs control panel, and also whether its possible to use admin panel to move the hosting account from one of our servers to another? Thanks in advance.
chickendippers
You can terminate a package by clicking the "Terminate" button on the product page AFAIK WHMCS can't actually move data between servers, I think that's asking a bit much from a billing system.
maniahost
Thanks for the reply. I was aware the billing account could be terminated, and the account in WHMCS, but wasnt sure whether terminate actually deletes the account from the server? Understandable about the moving data, was just a thought Thanks again.
chickendippers
Those buttons control the server functions, so clicking any of those will directly affect the account on the server.

brianoz
AFAIK WHMCS can't actually move data between servers, I think that's asking a bit much from a billing system.Definitely an advanced feature but I'm hoping they might consider adding it at some point in the future. Trouble is, the WHM account move feature isn't rock solid, so it's not completely trivial.
JasonO
It still needs to be remembered that WHMCS is a billing system and not a control panel. Things like data transfers should be done in WHM by someone manually, having it done in WHMCS would be asking to much from a billing system in my opinion.
brianoz
WHMCS already does package changes, suspension, termination and creation. We already have to move user accounts in WHMCS when we move them from one host to another; it's a logical extension for WHMCS to do the actual hosting move when we move the account. It could be argued that the chosen host is an integral part of the billing, whereas other control panel functions aren't. And in fact, it's not that hard to automate, provided some thought is put in. I'd be happy for now with an ActionHook so I could implement this myself! Just my opinion of course!
brianoz
On another note, we have a script run when an account is terminated; which backs up the account prior to termination. I highly recommend this approach, it saves your bacon very nicely on occasion.
