Customers Receiving Email Template - Credit Card Invoice Created

Recommended Posts

Hello,

My subscription packages all have automatic billing. I was recently made aware by a customer who got confused when receiving the Credit Card Invoice Created email that went out automatically.

In that email, there's a statement that reads...

"Payment will not be taken automatically. To pay your invoice, please login at https://cracklepoptv.com/client/viewinvoice.php?id=196 and click Pay Now, then follow the instructions on the screen."

NOTE: The above statement is wrong. Customers are automatically billed and no payment is due. The other information in that email regarding the invoice is correct. This is a reminder email that tells the next due date that will be automatically charged. I didn't set up this email but thought I could correct it with some help.

When opening that email template in WHMCS, I found that statement with placeholders as written below. I am not experienced with placeholders yet but do see a list of them to use when needed.

{if $invoice_auto_capture_available} Payment will be taken automatically from the {if $invoice_pay_method_type == "bankaccount"}bank account{else}credit card{/if} {$invoice_pay_method_display_name} on {$invoice_next_payment_attempt_date}. To change or pay with a different payment method, please login at {$invoice_link} and click Pay Now, then follow the instructions on the screen. {else} Payment will not be taken automatically. To pay your invoice, please login at {$invoice_link} and click Pay Now, then follow the instructions on the screen. {/if}

See the Attachment with a screenshot.

I'm hoping someone can tell me what would be the best way to correct the statement above. Do I simply change the wording and leave the placeholders intact?

Hope to hear from someone soon.

Thanks

I also see there is no way to preview this email template.

The following needs to be corrected as I stated above...

{if $invoice_auto_capture_available} Payment will be taken automatically from the {if $invoice_pay_method_type == "bankaccount"}bank account{else}credit card{/if} {$invoice_pay_method_display_name} on {$invoice_next_payment_attempt_date}. To change or pay with a different payment method, please login at {$invoice_link} and click Pay Now, then follow the instructions on the screen. {else} Payment will not be taken automatically. To pay your invoice, please login at {$invoice_link} and click Pay Now, then follow the instructions on the screen. {/if}
----------

I was thinking maybe adding 'not' to the statement above... "Payment will 'not' be taken automatically from the..."

Then remove 'not' from the statement... "Payment will be taken automatically"

...would be the simplest way to correct the issue.

Still, there is no way to preview to see if that works. Having that feature is important.

Important... MART GEEKS Name

Please try to remember the following:

The name MART GEEKS will appear on your bank or credit/debit card statement when billed automatically.

MART GEEKS is associated with our CracklePop TV services so when you see the name, don't be alarmed when thinking this is fraud and requesting a chargeback. Doing so will lead to terminating your CracklePop account.

We have a very good response time replying to customer messages. Give us that time to do whatever needs to be done to get the issue resolved.

Thank you for choosing us.
