Variables in PHP (not .tpl)

I understand that there is a list of variables for templates available at https://developers.whmcs.com/themes/variables/ however, I am trying to figure out how to reference the same list inside the PHP file that calls the .tpl

Example: How is the {$systemurl} variable referenced inside the PHP file?

Not sure I'm following exactly what you're asking but the output of $systemurl comes from the URL you enter under General Settings in the Admin side of WHMCS.
