Getting getTemplateVars() to work on Admin Area

Hello there! 

I'm trying to make " getTemplateVars() " to work on Admin Area using a hook.

I keep getting " Error: Call to a member function getTemplateVars() on null " 

It works on all Client-side pages, but not on admin area. ( add_hook("AdminAreaPage"... etc  )

Am i missing something?
