Methinks
Not all of the folks I have are also Domaina customers. I would still like to be able to set up a friendly reminder for them that thier domain is ready for renewal. At this point I have to go through the whole order process to do so and because I choose none as the registrar I have to go throughthe whole process and type in a fake epp code. Then have an invoice generated that I have to delete. Unless I am doing this wrong and there is another way. Is there a way to make a third option in the domain area for add domain reminder. Or maybe an order script under orders or is this somting I can create in client fileds. Would be nice to say hey I know your not transfered here but if you dont renew your gonna loose and maybe loose a customer because with out a domainthey dont need hosting. I know this is probably closer to 37 questions intead of one.
chickendippers
So you want to send marketing emails to your customers who have domains registered elsewhere to encourage them to transfer them to you? You could just manually send them emails, I see no point in starting the domain transfer process if you then cancel the invoice.
Methinks
In a sense yes. However the few little folks I do have about half are friends. If you change email addresses and forget to change it with your registrar you wont get a notice that it is due. I would like to remind them and can do so now that it is time to renew their domain. As the list of folks grow I thought it would be a nice courtesy feature on my part to inform them that their domain is up for renewal. If that then turns into a transfer for me so be it. But I am even more interested in just being a concientious person to deal with. Kinda like buying ribs at the butcher and havinghim toss in the bbq sauce for free. I know it probably doesnt make sense in a big environment. Nor is it even worthy of a feature request. But for me if there is an easy way to do it so that they wont get the whole pay now and have to go through the whole process myself then I would like to be able to do it. And would like it not to make an invoice. I do a lot of freebie designs for a group I belong to for parents who have lost children and they purchase domain names and then dont know a thing except they want something to remember with. So I want to help them keep organized as much as possible. And to loose your site because you didnt renew for them would be dissasterous.
chickendippers
I can't think of an easier way as WHMCS doesn't store the details of domains not registered through you. You'd be looking at a custom development, just drop a support ticket and I'm sure Matt will quote you for it.
