Clients who change default payment method - automatically apply to all products?

Is there a way to automatically apply the new default payment method to all products and services? I noticed when customers change their default payment method to a new service, like between credit card and paypal, the invoices generated for the products still use the old default payment method and i need to go in and manually change them. This causes tickets and headaches. 

How can this be automatically changed?
