Login Issues (Admin & Client Portal)

Recommended Posts

Hi

I'm wondering if any one can help or point me in the right direction if a solution already exists?

I've recently ran into an issue with logging in to  my admin and client portal. When ever you enter your username and password and hit the login button you get thrown back to the login page immediately without being logged in. I use to run version 6.5 and when this issue started I updated to version 7.10.2 ,thinking this might solve my problem because the version I was running was quite old.  But the issue was not resolved, so I started doing some research and tried a couple different things:

1.) Tried changing my Password (Through the "forgot password" link and manually via the database table) - No luck.

2.) I checked that my IP was not blacklisted with my WHMCS - it was not.

3.) Added another admin user via the database using PHPMyAdmin - Still no luck.

4.) Tried logging in with multiple different PC's and mobile devices - Still no luck

5.) Tried using different browsers to login - Still no luck

I spoke to a friend that also uses WHMCS and he said he remembers that there recently was an issue with an update which was causing problems with the login sessions and you'd had to change some permissions on files within your WHMCS directory - but he is unable to assist any further, he's currently quite busy. Can any one confirm this and point me to the correct thread or solution ?

Thanks

MSC-sa
