Google Checkout - automatically charge?

Inside your Google Checkout account you need to go to Settings > Preferences > Order processing preferences and select the option Automatically authorize and charge the buyer's credit card.

 

Do I have to set Google Checkout to automatically charge? I know it says that in the admincp but maybe Matt can enlighten me what would happen if I don't set that?

 

I need it not to automatically charge for other purposes.

You'll need to visit Google Checkout and manually charge the order each time someone uses that payment method. Other than that, I can't think of any ramifications...at worse, you may have to manually add a payment to the invoice in your admin area.
