When a user has an active paypal subscription ID is there a way of turning off the invoice reminder emails to them?

Can you direct me on how to turn off invoice reminder emails when the customer has an active PayPal subscription? My customers are complaining getting email reminders when they are on a subscription. They don't want the extra emails, only need an email IF the subscription payment fails.
