Custom theme development

Which companies or individuals do you recommend for custom theme development?

We have always developed our theme in-house. Over time our theme has been stitched and glued together and although it's working and even looks pretty decent, it doesn't feel right to move on with this patched up piece of work. Our theme removes and adds some functions to make it easier for our customers. Features we definitely need are:

  • Mass payment of invoices from the home screen, we have a hook for that and it can be reused;
  • Disable cancellations if invoices are still due (we could purchase a plugin for that instead of the glue we have now);
  • Integration with our ticketing system (Kayako currently, but we're looking to migrate to SupportPal)

In the future we want to move our custom pages to full featured WHMCS plugins. We have pages for DNS-related management (DNS cluster/DNS records) that could be rewritten as a proper plugin. It's definitely a big plus if that can be done by the same company or person.

For the sake of clarity:

  • We're not looking for an individual or company who adds a header and footer and calls that integration; we really want something nice and I've seen it go wrong before.
  • You will need to be familiar with git; we need to follow the guidelines from WHMCS and we have a custom git repo + branch for this purpose.

We haven't set out a specific budget but from earlier conversations with ModulesGarden about custom development; that's out of our price range at the moment for this project.
