SaaS and IaaS services

Hi Guys,

I am working on a research to understand the adoption of SaaS and Public IaaS services among hosters that use WHMCS.
Can you answer a few questions for me? This could eventually lead to more plugins developed for WHMCS!

1. What SaaS and Public IaaS services do you offer today / planning to offer in the next 2 years? (name a few: Office 365? Dropbox? Azure? Acronis? Symantec? Trend Micro? BitTitan?...)

2. Which types of services you will be looking at in future to resell?

3. How do you plan to procure and deliver these services to the market?

4.  Would you consider becoming a reseller of these services through a Distributor? (i.e. Ingram Micro Cloud)

5.How critical for you to have an integration between your automation platform (WHMCS) and Distributor’s platform? (Can you rank it from 1-10, where 1 is not important)

Thank you for your help.

Hi Alex,

Both SaaS and IaaS share the common goal of delivering cloud-based resources to the user. However, these models come with unique features and functionalities.

Software-as-a-Service (SaaS) works through cloud servers that host application software and provides ways to deliver software applications via the internet to a third-party hosting provider.

Using SaaS applications you don’t need to worry about the setup or maintenance of the software. Any updates or improvements to the application are handled by the provider.

Great examples of SaaS products are Dropbox, Slack and Adobe.

Infrastructure-as-a-Service (IaaS) offers users on-demand computer, storage, and networking resources, and is mostly used by network architects.

IaaS takes the hardware and operating system benefits of PaaS and combines them with the web-based software benefits of SaaS, and serves as an all-encompassing, serverless computing option for users.

Some great examples of IaaS products are Rackspace Technology, Google Compute Engine, DigitalOcean Droplets and Azure Virtual Machines

There are plenty of providers on hand to assist you too. In our article, we will walk you through some of the most popular cloud services - LaaS, PaaS, CaaS, IaaS, FaaS, and SaaS - and help you to decide what kind of cloud computing will serve your business the best.
