Can custom theme files use default 'six' themes as parent?

I know in templates/orderforms/xx/theme.yaml I can use config:parent:six to enroll default templates if its not exist in xx.

 

But for templates/xx/theme.yaml, can it work too? I tried but not work. can't find related docs.
