Question

I would like to know if whmcs will allow us to setup our two different companies using one install, different order forms. Or would would we need to purchase two licenses and install each one into its own database and folders?

Hi

You need one license per installation. One license is valid on one domain only. How ever, the client area section of WHMCS can be viewed from multiple different domains if those domains are parked on the main account. All will use the same database though, look the same, and all emails sent will link to the system url which will be the main domain WHMCS is installed on.

With the release of V3.2.2, it's possible to change the template that your system uses very simply via the URL. You can do this for both the main system template and the order form allowing you to display different brands depending on where the user comes from and different order forms depending on which products are being ordered. Some examples of how to use this feature are shown below:

Display the homepage with the portal template

index.php?systemtemplate=portal

Display the order form with the single page template

order.php?ordertemplate=singlepage

Link directly to order a product using the default system template & boxes order form template

order.php?step=2&pid=1&systemtemplate=default&ordertemplate=boxes

ok thanks... We dont care about having to purchase additional licenses. We just wanted to see if one system could handle two different company products. But sounds like it still may be easier to have two sperate installs.

Joe, Even though I can choose a template via the URL, all templates seem to share the same header. How can I have a different header for each template? Also, is there a simple was to have a different language file based on the template?

I'm not Joe, but the templates do not share the same header and footer. Each template directory can be modified however you see fit.
