How much information for Server Settings?

TerrasIOI

Question

Hello,

I'm wondering about the logic behind Server Settings inputs in Products & Services menu.

Does WHMCS create packages in WHM based on 'WHM Package Name' entered there or on values entered in different fields in there??

If using reseller account with WHM, what shall I enter in those fields?

Thanks.

First of all, create your packages under WHM control panel on your server, not WHMCS yet. Take a note of the exact package name it has created, it's usually "yourusername_packagename" as these will need to be added to WHMCS when you setup your packages.

Now you can start setting up your server settings.

under CONFIGURATION --> Manage Servers in WHMCS

1) Add New Server

2) (In the next screen)

3) Name: (Put here a name that customers will see when they go to server status, like "Linux Server WHMcPanel"

3) IP Address: "Main Sever IP Address here"

4) Monthly Cost: "Put in how much your server costs here (optional)"

5) Datacenter/NOC: "Customers dont see this, this is FYIO, so when you have more than 1 reseller account you know what IP is for what reseller account"

6) Max Number of accounts: "Put in here how many accounts you have been allocated to your reseller account or 9999 if you dont want a limit set if you have unlimited resellers package"

7) Server Status Address: "this is the address for your (status) folder you uploaded to the server from the WHMCS install, ie http://www.yourdomain.com/status/ with the trainling slash"

---

8) Primary nameserver: "Your primary nameserver that you have been allocated, this appears in their welcome email from WHMCS"

9) Primary Nameserver IP: "The nameserver IP address"

10) Secondary nameserver: "Your secondary nameserver that you have been allocated, this appears in their welcome email from WHMCS"

11) Secondary Nameserver IP: "The nameserver IP address"

12) Server Details: "Pick cPanel from the dropdown list"

13) Username: "Your reseller username that you use to access http://www.yourdomain.com/whm ie the Web Host Manager username for your reseller account"

14) Password: "Your whm reseller password"

15) The rest can be left blank for now to get you started, now click on submit

Thats your server settings setup.

Let me know if you need a hand setting up your packages, domain names and pricing.

Once you have setup your servers, the best thing to do now is configure your domain name provider, I would highly recommend ENOM as the API from WHMCS FULLY integrates to ENOM.

Then start setting up the Domain TLD's like .com/.co.uk etc etc that you want to sell including prices. And setup your packages after that. Once you have done that you can then start integrating the code into your website.

Wow, this is really top notch pedagogical guide :-)

I have done thing from other way. The first thing I done was setting upp server and Enom registrar.

What is confusing me is all inputs field UNDER 'WHM Package Name' filed in 'Manage Products & Services / Server Settings'.

Do they have any influence on package attributes that gets created in WHM??

Regards,

TerrasIOI
