RC / Directi finally split the .com and .net pricing

Hi folks,

After asking and asking, Directi have finally got their programmers together to split the pricing of the .com and .net TLD's

This Sunday 21st Oct, the orderbox will go down for a couple of hours to do a system upgrade that will finally see the .com and .net prices split.

.net prices will be as cheap as chips at last, and will see a very interesting split between the big boys out there!

Where the registries and registrars have been making the cream on the .net for so long will finally come to an end!

Which is excellent news! :)

Can you tell me what are you talking about? Isn't the prices the same for .COM .NET registries as they are managed by Verisign?

No they aren't the same price to reigstrars. :)

They never have been, registrars normally charge the same for both, hence why you see the .com prices sometimes given away at a steal, its because on the .net they were making around $1-2 a domain more!!!

Even though the .net tld went up 10% for registrars (meaning RC pays $3.85), I don't see it making any difference for DirectI/RC resellers. I believe they only did this so that they will be able to offer specials for the .com and .net tlds independently of each other.

Hi ur,

Well we had the request in with LogicBoxes and this is why they have been seperated out, now it has been sorted out, we are in the process of sorting out our offers for the .net domain registrations.

We use the the orderbox for our Registrar, hence needing this to be seperated out. Dont forget on top of the price above is the ICANN fees.
