robwee
Ok, I am trying to determine whether this is whmcs problem or Paypal as this has been happening to almost all my PayPal transactions. I think the new whmcs invoice update (3.0.4) defeats PayPal subscription function. Version 3.03 I was using before. - 9/10 PayPal transactions fail first time for combined purchase of hosting/domain. Transaction shows pending/ incomplete. - Clients get notified and goes to their client areas and pay with PayPal - Pays to PayPal twice, once for hosting and the other for domain - Both subscriptions were created separately Version 3.04 - 9/10 PayPal transactions still fail first time for combined purchase of hosting/domain. Transaction shows pending/ incomplete. - Clients now gets an INVOICE instead - Clients pay the invoice with paypal (Hosting and Domain) - Payment received but NO SUBSCRIPTIONS created. Just one time payment for both subscriptions - Hosting/Domain Now, does this mean that I have to invoice my clients when the following year rolls around? How can this be avoided? I just want my clients to be able to subscribe the first time they pay. Ver 3.0.4 PayPal invoice certainly doesn't work in my favor as far as subscription goes... Anyone experiencing this? Any workarounds? Thanks!
WHMCS CEO Matt Posted October 15, 2007 WHMCS CEO Share Posted October 15, 2007 Hi Rob, What's the problem exactly? From the sounds of it the customer just used the one time payment button instead of subscriptions. If you want to force them onto subscriptions, you need to tick the Force Subscriptions checkbox in Config > Payment Gateways so that when a subscription is available, the one time payment button isn't shown. And you don't have to invoice anyone, that's what WHMCS does for you. Regarding paypal transactions failing, that isn't the case and must be a problem with your setup. And transactions showing Pending means the customer has paid by eCheque so the invoice won't be marked paid until that eCheque clears a few days after it's been sent.
