IDProtectToggle not being called during domain name registration?

We developed our own domain name registration plug-in for bNamed.net and have now also added the "IDProtectToggle" functionality to turn on and off whois privacy.

 

If the client enables or disables ID protection on an active domain name, then this works perfectly. But the client can already select ID Protection during the initial order process and in that case, the ID Protection status isn't updated.

 

Is there a way to know if ID Protection has been requested within the "RegisterDomain" function? I tried looking for

$params['protectenable']

but this was always "false" if checked within "RegisterDomain" (only seems to correctly reflect the ID protection status within "IDProtectToggle").

 

Are others also seeing this with WHMCS plug-ins from other providers, that ID protection doesn't get enabled during registration?
