What first: whmcs or kayako?

pickles

Question

After years of hosting on multiple solaris/sparc platforms I'm moving to a LAMP environment. I have cPanel and love/hate it, and its time to get my billing and support stuff ordered and installed.

Should I install whmcs first then install kayako or visa versa?

Secondly: My old billing system was home-grown and stored in a mysql DB. Is there an API I can use to write scripts to import my clients (550ish) in?

Thanks in advance.

My opinion - install WHMCS first, don't install Kayako at all.

The WHMCS ticket system is good, and you have your customer data a click away when customers open a ticket.

Getting Kayako to play nice consistently with any hosting package will drive you insane. Who needs the extra work and frustration?
