Template Installation and Connection

I don't understand some basic things about template installation and the system that's being used to connect things.

My php files are in the root whmcs folder and the template files with the tpl files are in in the templates folder.

Th nav links in my template's header.tpl list as follows:

            <ul class="sf-menu">
             <li class="home"><a href="index.php"></a></li>
             <li><a href="sharedhosting.php"><span></span>Hosting</a></li>
             <li><a href="domainchecker.php"><span></span>Domains</a></li>
             <li><a href="knowledgebase.php"><span></span>F.A.Q's</a></li>
             <li><a href="announcements.php"><span></span>News</a></li>
             <li><a href="clientportal.php"><span></span>Client Portal</a></li>
             <li><a href="contact.php"><span></span>Contact Us</a></li>
           </ul>

So now I have to create a sharedhosting.php file (because there is none in the root folder, change the Domains link to "../../domainchecker.php"... change the Portal link to "../../clientarea.php" because there is no clientportal.php file, etc. Matching all the links in all of the tpl files to match the php files that came with my install??

Right now, all I can see is my home page and all of the links go to blank pages.

After that, I've got to add in all of the order links based on my products.

Is this right??
