Troy
I've been wondering this for a long time. To my knowledge, at least with the few registrars we've ever used, a domain transfer retains the dns servers set at the previous registrar always. Are there registrars that will actually change the dns servers as specified on the transfer order when the transfer completes? If dns servers are always retained with transfers, why even ask the client what dns servers he wishes to use when transferring a domain? Seems pointless and confusing to the client when the transfer completes and he still has to change the dns servers. I may see about editing the templates to fix this, but it seems like this should be an option at the registrar level in WHMCS so we don't have yet another custom change to maintain across upgrades.

greghl
no it doesn't annoy me - it has always been a 2 step process -1st get control of domain, 2nd make your changes. [shrug]
Troy
But WHMCS asks for the dns servers when the transfer is ordered. This gives the client the impression the dns servers will be changed upon successful completion, which is not the case.
